Wicklow Animal Welfare

Rescue | Rehabilitate | Rehome

● About

We’re a small, independent, registered Irish charity in Co. Wicklow. We receive no government funding and never put time limits on healing. We take in dogs and horses that others have run out of time for: from pounds and from situations nobody planned. Every animal receives proper vet care and all the time they need. Some are ready in weeks. Others take years. A small number stay with us for life.

Rescue. Rehabilitate. Rehome.

● Adopt

Not all rescue dogs are “damaged”

Many have simply lost their place through no fault of their own. We take the time to find them the right new one.

Some dogs arrive with difficult histories. Others are healthy, sociable animals that circumstances, not character, left without a home. We get to know every dog before we start looking for a match. When it works, you do not just gain a companion. You gain a friend who finally knows they are safe.

Because every dog deserves a happy life

● Foster

Kennel life overwhelms some dogs. A foster home can transform their entire recovery.

The noise, the unpredictability and the lack of routine can set back a dog already dealing with fear. A foster home gives them what a kennel cannot: quiet, a predictable routine and the human presence that helps them learn to trust.

We provide all the food, vet care and equipment. You provide the space and love. Watching a frightened dog relax and show their personality, is the most rewarding thing our fosterers describe.

Over a year, that covers parasite treatment, vaccines or emergency care for several animals.

● Supporting Our Work

No Shortcuts. No Time Limits.

Pounds are full. Rescues are turning animals away. Small charities like ours quietly take the ones with nowhere else to go.

We receive no government funding and rely entirely on donations and volunteers. One foster placement frees a kennel space. One adoption saves a life. One monthly standing order covers vaccines or emergency vet care. Every contribution, however small it feels, creates space for one more animal in crisis.
