Rescue Treats the Symptoms. Advocacy Changes the System.
No government funding. No kill policy. No exceptions.
Wicklow Animal Welfare has always believed the work has two parts: caring for the animals in front of us today and pushing for a system that puts fewer animals in crisis tomorrow.

A one-off donation is always welcome.
A monthly commitment changes how we operate.
When we know what is coming in each month, we can book vet appointments without checking the balance first. We can say yes to the next pound call without hesitation. We can plan a neutering clinic and know it will go ahead.
Even โฌ10 a month makes a measurable difference.
Over a year, that covers parasite treatment, vaccines or emergency care for several animals.

Rather Donate Supplies?
Physical donations go directly into the kennels and free up cash for vet bills.
Our biggest ongoing needs are quality kennel bedding, puppy milk replacer, worming and flea treatments, large-breed dry and wet food, leads, collars and laundry detergent. Drop them directly to our Rathdrum centre or order through our Amazon wishlist.
One bag of food keeps several dogs fed for a week. One delivery of bedding keeps a litter of puppies warm through the night. Everything helps.
The largest share of every donation covers vet bills. After that, food, kennel maintenance and the running of our community neutering and microchipping schemes. Three part-time staff manage a caseload that would challenge an organisation three times our size. Administration costs are kept as low as possible.
Wicklow Animal Welfare is a registered Irish charity. Charity No. 20068943. We receive no government or local authority funding of any kind. When you donate to WAW, it goes to the animals.
